I was pleased as well as surprised to get a letter from you. I did not know where you was. I got 2 letters from your father after he went to Kansas he said you was on the home place but that was a long time ago. My father's last few years in reading the Bible after he wðVìŒ7Æas too old and infirm to work. He did not seem to care for anything else He died in 1888. 3 of my brothers live in Virginia one in Monroe Co. and 3 of us live here

We are all farmers all own farms but two the oldest and youngest.
When I left there I came back to Ohio in the fall of 63. My wife died and I too my little girl to her grandmother to stay. I was unsettled. I wanted to be with my child. IðVìŒ7Æ married again and took my little girl home. I then moved below Marietta near where I now live.We have 180 acres mostly improved. We have a large family. One son and one daughter in Mo. Son married, one son in East Liverpool and a daughter alsoðVìŒ7Æ, the boys are married. The girls are all single. I built a new house in 91 and moved on the hill where I have 10 acres of orchard. I will close by asking you to excuse bad writing as I have not written a letter with ink and pen for five years.ðVìŒ7Æ
