Louise Johnson was born on 2. Feb. 1860 at New Castle, Henry County, Indiana. She was the daughter of
Caleb Johnson and
Miriam Wilson. Louise Johnson married
Thomas J. Conover, son of
Levi Conover and
Mary Elizabeth Mathews, on 8. Jun. 1881 at Jasper County, Iowa.
Louise Johnson and
Thomas J. Conover appeared on the census of 28. Jun. 1900 at Lynn Grove Twp., Jasper County, Iowa; 4 children, 3 living. "Louisa (Johnson) Conover, daughter of Caleb and Mariam Johnson, was born in New Castle, Indiana Feb. 2, 1860, and died at Sully, Iowa Feb. 22, 1903. She was educated in Spiceland academy and Earlham college. She then taught school for a few years.
In 1879 her parents removed to Iowa, she accompanying them. On the eighth of June 1881 she and Thomas J. Conover were united in marriage. To this happy union wre born four children, three of whom with the hsuband, mother, two brothers one sister and many relatives are left to mourn her loss.
Early in life she became a Christian and ever afterward devoted her talents to the master's service. She joined the Methodist Protestant church at Sully in 1890 and has been one of its most efficient members.
In Sunday school work she was especially successful, having taught the same class for ten years. In mission work she took an active interst, not forgetting her Lord's teachings: "It is more blessed to give than to receive." The funeral services were most impressive. They were conducted by President Roseberger of Penn college, assisted by Revs. McKaig and Parker. Text, Phil 4:13. She was then laid to rest in Swan's cemetery. "Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: yea saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors and their works do follow them."

Conover Wednesday: Mr. and Mrs. Woods from Murphy; Mrs. Anna McNeal, a sister from Arian, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hukill, a sister, from Des Moines; Mrs. Williams a sister from Denver, Colorado; Mr. and Mrs. Bevan Johnson, a brother from Earlham, Iowa; and her mother, Mrs. Johnson from Earlham, Iowa; also Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Smith from Galesburg." Louise Johnson died on 22. Feb. 1903 at age 43. She was buried at Swain Cemetery, Lynn Grove Twp., Jasper County, Indiana.
