B. J. JONES, farmer; P. O. Hutchinson; was born June 24, 1824, in Bourbon County, Ky; son of W. S. and Nancy (Ashurst) Jones; she is a daughter of Josiah Ashurst of Bourbon County. The grandfather of our subject came from Virginia and settled at Jones' Cross Roads, near Clintonville. Mr.Jones was married in 1850 to Miss Amanda Roberts, daughter of Joseph Roberts, of Bourbon County, which union has resulted in the following children: Belle, Luty, Lillie, John, Ida, Rosa, Joe and Frank. He is the owner of 129 acres of excellent farming land, and has resided in the county his entire life. He and his wife are members of the Christian Church. He was a Whig before the war, and has been a Democrat since.
