George Keith was born on 7. May. 1819 at Crimond Parrish, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. He married
Ann Eddie on 18. May. 1843 at Halifax, Halifax County, Nova Scotia, Canada. George Keith died on 21. May. 1899 at Brock Twp., Nemaha County, Nebraska, at age 80. He was buried at Emanuel Cemetery, Dixon, Lee County, Illinois.

George Keith immigrated to America, landing in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, on his birthday, May 07, 1841. He married Ann Eddy in 1843. In 1844 they went to New York and then Michigan, finally settling in Illinois by 1845. The 1850 census showed them living in Rockford, Ill., and the 1870 census shows them living in Marion twnp., Lee Co., Ill.

"Death of George Keith, Sr.
News was received today of the death of George Keith, Sr., on Saturday night, May 20, at the home of his son, Frank Keith of Brock, Neb. Mr. Keith was the father of Mrs. A. P. Porter of Harmon, and was at one time a prominent farmer of Marion, this county. The remains will be brought to Harmon, where a funeral service will be held at the home of his daughter at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning, May 24th. The interment will be in the cemetery of Emanuel church, South Dixon, about noon. Mr. Keith was about 82 years of age at the time of his death."

OBITUARY
George Keith was born in the Parish of Crimmond, Scotland, May 7, 1819, and died at Brock, Nebraska, May 21, 1899, aged 80 years and 14 days. He came to Nova Scotia in 1840 and was married to Miss Ann Eddie, May 15, 1843. They moved from there to Rockford in 1845, where a family of eleven children was born of which there are seven living: George, Frank, Mrs Wm. Sutton of Brock, Nebraska: Fred and Mrs. Ellen Calder of Chicago: Mrs. Maggie Conant of Rockford and Mrs. Nina Porter of Harmon. Mrs. Keith, his bosom companion, died Oct. 1, 1876 while living in Marion township. Mr. Keith moved from Dixon to Brock, Nebraska, in 1887, and has lived since that time with his children in that place. He was a very earnest christian, having joined the church while living in Rockford. He led an exemplary life and was very faithful in church work. It may well be said of him, "How blest the righteous when he dies."
