He resided at at Brooklyn, Kings County, New York, bt 1663 - 1675. He emigrated in Mar. 1663 from Netherlands; on the ship "Rose Tree." He married Jennike Smith on 26. Feb. 1671/72 at Flatbush, Kings County, New York. Gijsbert Thyssen Laenen and Jennike Smith resided at at New Utrecht, Kings County, New York, in 1675. Gijsbert Thyssen Laenen and Jennike Smith members of the Dutch Reformed Church, New Utrecht, NY at Dutch Reformed Church, New Utrecht, Kings County, New York, bt 1677 - 1709. Gijsbert Thyssen Laenen was a Deacon of the Chruch at New Utrecht at Dutch Reformed Church, New Utrecht, Kings County, New York, 1683.
Gijsbert Thyssen Laenen appeared on the census of 1698 at New Utrecht, Kings County, New York; appears on the census roll as "Gysbert Tysee," with wife and seven children. On 1706 owned 83 acres of land.
He resided at at Monmouth County, New Jersey, on 23. Apr. 1709; purchased 460 acres of land. On 1710 organized the Reformed Congregation.
On 5. Feb. 1710 purchased 210 acres.
He left a will on 7. Nov. 1720
