ADA ? Services for Myrtle Duffer, 94, Ada, are 1:30 PM Saturday at Criswell Funeral Home, the Rev. Barry Worcester officiating. Burial will follow at Coalgate Cemetery.
Mrs. Duffer died Wednesday, March 2, 2005, at a local hospital. She was born May 11, 1910, at Sulphur Springs, Texas, to William Thomas Badley and Florence Lever Badley.
She graduated from Coalgate High School. She received a master?s of education degree from East Central University. She also received a vocational home economics degree from Oklahoma State University.
She married Casper Duffer on Jan. 13, 1933, in Ada, Oklahoma. He died June 9, 1993.
Mrs. Duffer was a teacher for 31 years. She taught at Carr City, Fitzhugh, Ada High School and Latta. She taught elementary school and home economics. She was a member of the First Christian Church where she was a children?s Sunday School teacher. She was a member of the Gideon?s. She was also a volunteer at McCalls Chapel School.
Survivors include a son, William R. Duffer and wife Sally, Roff; four grandchildren, Cassie and her husband Connie Burleson, Diana and her husband Glenn Beck, Mark Duffer, and Janet and her husband Alan Shepard; and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Gayle Jean Duffer on June 18, 2001, and a sister, Mary Myers on October 5, 2000.
Bearers are Mark Duffer, Glenn Beck, Connie Burleson, Alan Shepard and Casper Shepard.
