Elbert Luyster married Jacomyntje Covenhoven, daughter of Gerret Willemse Van Kouwenhoven and Lysbeth (Unknown), on 6. Oct. 1720 at Flatbush, Kings County, New York. In his will dated Jan 10, 1757, Elbert Luyster of Newtown, Queens County, LI, mentioned his wife Jacomyntje, his son Gerrit, and his daughters Elizabeth, Sarah, Jacomyntje, Altje, and Jannetje. The executors were his wife Jacomyntje, his son Gerrit, and his kinsman Daniel Luyster; it was witnessed by Richard Berrian, Cornelius and Jacob Rapelye. Elbert Luyster died on 5. Sep. 1758 at age 65. His estate was proved on 14. Apr. 1767.

She married Jan Pieterse Monfoort, son of Pierre Montfort and Sarah De Plancken, b 1686; 1st marriage Jan, according to SpellTuis Bergen, in Early Settlers of Kings County, assumes that she became the wiofe of Jan Pieterse Montfort of Hempstead, LI, whose only marriage was to Ida Abraham Brinckerhoff, as recorded in the Flatbush Church May 17, 1687 and so entered in the original records as to show no previous marriage. Gertien Pieters Luyster married Jacob Wips.
