     Columbus Matthews was born on 30. Apr. 1848 at Indiana. He was the son of Alfred M. Matthews and Popelia Hardwick. Columbus Matthews married Emarine Chapman, daughter of Aquilla G. Chapman and Jeston Freelove Warren, in Aug. 1869 at Cumberland County, Illinois. Columbus Matthews married Sarah T. (Unknown). Columbus Matthews died on 2. Oct. 1920 at age 72. He was buried in Oct. 1920 at Dodge Grove Cemetery, Mattoon, Coles County, Illinois.

Cora Estelle Matthews was buried at Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery, Breckinridge County, Kentucky. She died on 19. Oct. 1988 at Cloverport, Breckinridge County, Kentucky, at age 89.
