Zadock Moody was also known as Zed Moody. Zadock Moody was born on 9. Jan. 1842 at Hancock County, Illinois. He was the son of
Rev. Spencer Moody and
Susannah Hendricks. Zadock Moody married
Sophia Cain on 15. Jan. 1863. Zadock Moody died on 16. Sep. 1901 at near, Spearville, Ford County, Kansas, at age 59. ZADOCK MOODY PASSES AWAY

“Our city was saddened last Monday afternoon to learn of the sudden death of Mr. Z. Moody, caused by rheumatism of the heart. It said that Mr. Z. Moody had been driving cattle and on returning to Kinsley, Kansas, he complaint with a severe pain in his heart. Mr. Zadock Moody and his son, Dick, started for the doctor. It was so sudden so that he died in a few minutes.
Mr. Moody was on of the old settlers. He was friend to all, a good neighbor, always friendly and socialite. He was a kind and affectional, a husband and father and a man who lived his religion in his everyday life. He will be greatly missed by all. The funeral was held at the house on Wednesday at 10 o’clock and the remains were buried in the Kinsley Cemetery. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community in their great loss.” (Spearville News, September 20, 1901.)
“Deceased (Zadock) was born January 9, 1842 and died near Spearville, Kansas, September 16, 1901, aged 59 years, 8 months, 7 days. He leaves a wife, and seven children and many d neighbors and friends here and at Spearville to mourn his death. His children are: Mrs. Tabitha Wade, Kinsley, Kansas, Mrs. Amy Kerr, Charles, Robert, Richard, George and Dollie Moody of Spearville.”
