Sarah A. Dysert, daughter of John and Martha Moore, was born August 22, 1842. Fully trusting in her Savior, she answered the final call and passed away August 19, 1927 at her home near Rush Creek, Ohio, after an illness of several weeks. On June 12, 1864 she was united i marriage to Thomas Dysert, who preceded her in death, December 20, 1917. To this union were born eight children, seven of whom survive, Mrs. Mary Sivey, Mrs. Anna Isles, Mrs. Dora Holmes, Mrs. Viola Cameron, John W., Harry A. and Florence, who resides at home and who cared for her mother with loving devotion during her last illness. She was converted at Franklin Grove, during the winter of 1882 at a revival conducted by Rev. J. W. Donnon. She loved the word of God and chose the 14th chapter of John as the foundation for her funeral sermon. Her religion was not so much in word as in her daily life, and those who knew her best testify to her example of true Christian piety. She never avoided strife and surely had the approval of Him who said, "Blessed are the peach makers." She was patient and cheerful during her illness, having the promise of sustaining grace even through the valley of the shadow of death, in a wonderful experience during her sickness. Thus a loving, sacrificing mother, a devoted wife and earnest Christian has left this earthly home at the age of 85 years.
Besides her children, she leave to mourn their loss, eleven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, two sisters: Mrs. Nancy Good and Mrs. Achsa Eastman; five brothers Harvey, Wilson, Thomas, Dell and Monroe, and a host of relatives and friends.
Our Mother:
Though in darkness now,
The slumber of the grave is passed;
Its gloom will soon be o'er and thus
Wilt break away to last
And dwell where neither grief nor pain
Can ever reach thy heart again.
Funeral services were conducted at Essex M. P. Church by Rev. C. B. Dotty, of Gilboa, assisted by Rev. B. F. McKinnon and Rev. Clyde parish. Burial made at Price Cemetery. She was buried at Price Cemetery, Richwood, Union County, Ohio.
