Services were Nov. 15, 1999 for Marian H. Conover, 83, of Moville, formerly of Holstein, at First Lutheran Church in Kingsley. The Rev. Judith Piper, pastor at the United Methodist Church in Holstein, officiated with burial in Holstein Cemetery under the direction of Earnest-Michaelson Funeral Home in Kingsley.
Mrs. Conover died Nov. 11 at a Sioux City hospital.
Mrs. Conover was born June 28, 1916, in rural Holstein, the daughter of Fred and Amanda (Hanson) Munz. She attended Holstein Community School and received her G.E.D. from Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City, in 1970.
She married Wendell H. Conover Sept. 22, 1932, in Elk Point, S.D. He died in 1989. She married Elzie F. Bottjen June 11, 1994.
She was employed as a grocery clerk in Ida Grove and Holstein. She was a postal clerk with the Holstein Post Office from 1965 until retiring in 1978.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church and National Association of Federal Employees Chapter 277 in Sioux City.
Survivors include her husband; two sons and their wives, Wendell and Marie Conover of Lincoln, Neb., and Marion and Bonnie Conover of Adel; four daughters, Shirley Rickard of Chandler, Ariz., Dorothy Johnston of Baxter, Carol Kay and her husband, William Major of Urbandale, and Kathryn and her husband, Dennis Grell of Altoona; three stepchildren, the Rev. Dean and his wife, Charlene Bottjen, of Wateska, Ill., Debra Wenham of Kingsley and Eric and his wife, Peggy Bottjen of Omaha, Neb; 10 grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
