John Lewis Myers was born on 15. May. 1844 at Memphis, Scotland County, Missouri. He married
Harriet Adeline Clark, daughter of
James Clark and
Harriet Dunlap, on 12. Mar. 1868 at Scotland County, Missouri. John Lewis Myers resided at at Jefferson, Scotland County, Missouri, in 1880. He was Farmer; For a time in 1900, he was a lumber dealer and in 1920 he was also a deputy Weigher. Bt 1880 - 1920 at Tillman County, Oklahoma. He died on 28. Apr. 1924 at Oklahoma at age 79. He was buried at Deep Red Cemetery, Tillman County, Oklahoma. John had a lumber yard in Abilene, Texas. In 1900, the family moved from Abilene to Siboney, Oklahoma Territory, and built a hotel there. They lived in the hotel and Hattie was the hotel cook. John was a farmer and had five farms and a sheep ranch, and was also a mule buyer. He had a gristmill in Manitou and bought all the corn that was grown within wagon distance of there. John became a preacher and Sunday School teacher at the Siboney schoolhouse.
Robert J. Paterson and his four children were living with John Myers in 1920 according to the 1920 census record for Tilman Co., Ok.
Note: In the 1880 census, John was listed as being in Scotland Co., MO. The 1900 census shows that John was then living in Bosque Co., TX. and by the 1910 census was living in Kiowa Co., Ok.
