Manilla Ellen Nevius was born on 25. Dec. 1907 at Polo, Caldwell County, Missouri. She was the daughter of
David Arlington Manuel Nevius and
Susanna Bell Herr. Manilla Ellen Nevius married
Guy Vernon Elsworth, son of
Norman Burdett Elsworth and
Ida Jeanette Jerauld, on 17. Feb. 1924 at Rolla, Morton County, Kansas. Manilla Ellen Nevius died on 20. Oct. 1977 at on the farm, Parsons, Labette County, Kansas, at age 69; from a stroke. First date-- Oct. 19, 1923, Friday evening. Married Sunday, Feb 17, 1924, at Rolla, Morton Co., Kansas.
Lived six months at Langdon, Kansas. Few days at Rolla, Morton Co., Kansas, East of Vilas, Colorado, in basement one week. Rock house north of Vilas,
Colorado. In spring sand hill south of Vilas, Colorado, and hailed out.
Moved to half dugout house north of Vilas, Colorado, and Vernon was born Aug 24, 1925.
In the fall of 1925,they moved to Rolla, Kansas at the Nevius home, and Guy worked at Billy Moore all winter. Lucy died July 10, 1926. Spring worked at
G. Hayward. August 1, 1926 moved near Langdon, Ks and stayed one year. Ellen was born September 15,1927.
Moved to Hutchinson. Virgil was born 16, 1929, east of Hutchinson at the Nevius home.
Moved to Langdon February of 1930. October 1, 1930, mother Elsworth died.
September 19, 1931, Norman was born at Langdon, Ks.
