EDWARDSBURG -- Anna "Louise" Spenner, 92, of Edwardsburg, died Tuesday (March 30, 2004) at Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Fla., following complications from surgery.
She was born Feb. 12, 1912, in South Bend. As Anna Rogers she married Carl Spenner on June 29, 1930. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Spenner is survived by three daughters, Mary Standiford and Marjorie Braniff, both of Edwardsburg, and Patsy Peck, of Osceola; a son, Robert Spenner of Ludington, Mich; 14 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
Ellenton Funeral Home in Ellenton, Fla. is handling cremation arrangements. A memorial service will be held later at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Niles, where she was a member.
Mrs. Spenner was a member of the Edwardsburg Lioness Club and the Edwardsburg Golden Agers. She spent the last eight winters in Florida. She was formerly employed by Edwardsburg Public Schools and Elkhart Community Schools.
