Jan. 1858 at Madison, Jefferson County, Indiana; Obituary gives birth year as 1859; Blanche Opal (Ryker) Myers gives birth year as 1858. He was the son of Jared H. Ryker and Elizabeth Ann Ditch. Charles Edward Ryker married Amelia Jane Hiteshue on 27. Dec. 1883 or 23. Dec. 1883 at Colfax, Clinton County, Indiana; According to the Certif. of Marriage, "Mr. Charles Ryker & Miss Jennie Hiteshue" were married by John M. Stafford, M.E. Minister, Colfax, IN on 27 Dec 1883. According to Clinton Cnty (IN) marriage record, Jennie's place of residence at the time of her marriage was Monroe, OH, and Charles resided in Colfax, IN.

The obit from Lafayette, IN claims that Charles & Amelia Jane were married on 23 Dec 1883 rather than on 27 Dec. Charles Edward Ryker resided at at Kirkland, Indiana, in 1922. He was Blacksmith for 50 yrs at Linden & Kirkpatrick, Montgomery County, Indiana. He died on 11. Jun. 1952 at Kirkpatrick, Indiana, at age 94; Died at the home of his daughter, Agnes (Mrs. Jack) Bridwell, north of Kirkpatrick, IN.

Buried in Linden (Indiana) Cemetery. He was buried at Linden, Montgomery County, Indiana; Shared tombstone for Chas. & Amelia Jane. Supplementary information can be found in "Family Record of Chas. Edward & Amelia Jane Ryker" handwritten notes prepared by Lou Ryker Vail (approx. 1977).      Charles Everett Ryker Baptist; Was a member of Moultrie First Baptist Church. At Moultrie, Georgia. Charles Everett Ryker was born on 15. Nov. 1903 at Kirkpatrick, Indiana. He was the son of Charles Edward Ryker and Amelia Jane Hiteshue. Charles Everett Ryker began military service bt 1942 - 1945; Everett was named Chief Flying Instructor for the government under the CAA flying program during WW II. When he wasn't teaching students aerobatics, he was ferrying troops & supplies -- mostly ammunition -- around the world to the "hot spots" for the US Air Force. He was Aircraft maintenance service; From his obit: "... Mr. Ryker was formerly employed at Spence Airbase as a flying trainer, and was operating an aircraft maintenance service in Thomasville, GA at the time of his death from a heart attack." Bt 1951 - 1966 at Thomasville, Thomas County, Georgia. He resided at at Moultrie, Georgia, bt 1954 - 1966; 2013 Fourth St, SE. He was Radio repair shop; The obituary implies that Everett moved residence from Linden, IN to Moultrie, GA in about 1951. Until abt 1951 at Linden, Montgomery County, Indiana. He died on 7. Jun. 1966 at Moultrie, Georgia, at age 62; Died of a heart attack. He was buried on 10. Jun. 1966 at Moultrie, Georgia; Buried in Pine Crest Memorial Gardens, Moultrie, GA.

Gerardus Jared Ryker resided at at Ryker's Ridge, Jefferson County, Indiana, bt 1814 - 1865. He married Martisha Wilhite on 17. Apr. 1814 at Madison, Jefferson County, Indiana; Personal search of original marriage records at Jefferson County courthouse in Madison, IN showed no record of this marriage in that (or adjacent) years. Gerardus Jared Ryker was farmer in 1850 at Jefferson County, Indiana. He died on 23. Apr. 1865 at Jefferson County, Indiana, at age 74. He died on 27. May. 1865 at Madison, Jefferson County, Indiana, at age 74; Both Leona Willhoite and the cemetery headstone give the death date as 28 April (rather than 23 April), 1865, whereas the obituary (from The Madison Daily Courier dtd 27 May 1865, pg 2, col 2) says "Died this morning of heart disease: G.J. Ryker, in the 75th year of his age." We take the newspaper's date as the correct one. He was buried on 28. May. 1865 at Ryker's Ridge ("old") Cemetery near, Madison, Jefferson County, Indiana; Gravesite photographed & videotaped by Judy & Bob Kryter, June 1997. Gerardus Jared was the third of nine children born to John & Mary Ryker.

Gerardus Jared & Martisha had a total of 11 children, of which Jared H. (b. 1830) was the eighth.
