A son, Dwight Lee Ransdell, is buliding maintenance supervisor for the Lexington Herald-Leader Co. Mrs. Ransdell was a native of Mercer Co., daughter of the lae Samuel J. and Sally Wickersham Sims. She was a member of the Maxwell St. Christian Church. Besides her husband, a retired Fayette Co., Road Dept. employee, and son, she is survivied by four other sons, Samuel Julian Ransdell, mercer Co; Thomas Allen and Curtis Ansel Ransdell, Indianapolis, and Burnice Ransdell Jr., London, KY; four daughers, Mrs. Marshall Matherly, Lexington; Mrs Wilbur Harrison, Williamsport, IN; Mrs. Robert Carpenter, Greenville, SC; and Mrs. Bernard Meredith, Timonium, MD; two sisters, Mrs. James Shumaker andMrs. Fred Jackson, Harrodsburgh, a sister-in-law, Mrs. F. J. Sims, Harrodsburgh, 19 grandchildren and great-randchlidren. Another son, Joseph J. Ransdell was killed in service in 1943. Burial in Lexington Cemetery.
