Catharine Tryphena Sortor resided at at Raisinville Twp., Monroe County, Michigan, in 1870; Catharine, age 21, was identified as having been born in Michigan, was employed at keeping house, and valued her real estate at $800.00. She resided at at Raisinville Twp., Monroe County, Michigan, in 1876; Mrs. T. Sorter owned a 23 acre farm located in Sections 14 and 23, Raisinville Township, Monroe County, Michigan.
Catharine Tryphena Sortor and Hendrick Sortore appeared on the census of 1880 at Raisnville, Monroe County, Michigan. Catharine Tryphena Sortor married an unknown person on 3. Dec. 1896. She resided at at Raisinville Twp., Monroe County, Michigan, in 1901. She died on 24. Jun. 1933 at age 84. She was buried at London Vault Cemetery, London Twp., Monroe County, Michigan. There was a strong sulphur spring on land belonging to Catharine Tryphine, claim 573 on the south side of the River Raisin. This spring is only known to have stopped flowing twice, in 1875 and 1895. Catharine owned a 53 acre farm on claim 673 in 1896. She still owned this farm in 1901.
