John Woodley Windus was the one with the prolific number of offspring. John's first wife, Fannie, and their two children died shortly after he arrived in the United States. Fannie was English. Then he married Eva Lida VanAntwerp. Their first child died and they had four more. After being married for less than 9 years, Lida died at the age of 30 years. This branch of the Windus family originated in Hagbourne England and were of the peasant class.
