James Carson Brevoort was born on 10. Jul. 1818 at Bloomingdale, Long Island, New York. He was the son of
Henry Brevoort and
Laura Carson. James Carson Brevoort was graduated in 1838 at Ecole Centrale des Arts Et Manufactures, Paris, France. On 1842 accompanied his Excellency Washington Irving as attache to Spain.
He married
Elizabeth Dorothea Lefferts, daughter of
Judge Leffert Lefferts and
Maria Benson, on 8. Oct. 1845. James Carson Brevoort and
Elizabeth Dorothea Lefferts resided at at her father's homestead Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, Kings County, New York.
