James E. Carney, 78, lifelong resident of Dickinson County, died Friday at Asbury Hospital, Salina, KS. He was born near Carlton, KS. He was a carpenter until he retired about six years ago. Mr. carney was a charter member of the Carlton Baptist Church. Survivors include the widow, Nettie of the home, a son, John, Abilene, KS. two sisters, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The funeral will be 2:30 P.M. Sunday at the Carlton Baptist Church, the Rev. S. O. Harniss officiating. Burial will be in Elmore cemetery. The Martia funeral home, Abilene, KS, is in charge of arrangement.
