He died in Victor, October 10, 1908. He married, at Akron, Ohio, January 9, 1858, Elizabeth Tucker, who was born at Penn Yan, October 31, 1832, and survives her husband (1911). Children: 1. Theodore, mentioned elsewhere. 2. Nettie, born in 1862, died 1869. 3. Mabel, born July 12, 1894, married, September 23, 1902, Roy J. Provost. 4. Elizabeth, born April 15, 1876, resides with her mother at Victor. William Tucker, fattier of Mrs. Conover, was born in Plaistow, New Hampshire, and married Ruth Cameron, who was born in Akron, Ohio; children: George, a soldier in the civil war, died in 1900; Elisha, soldier in the civil war; Elizabeth, mentioned above; Junietta, married George H. Adams, now (1910) living in Canandaigua; child, Nellie Adams. The Tucker family moved to Yates county and afterward to Ohio.

Conover, farmer, PO Kilbourne; is one of Mason's County enterprising young business men, and was born in Cass County, September 28, 1844; son of William Conover; his mother's maiden name was Rebecca Hopkins; his parents died when Joseph was quite young and he was left to fight life's battle alone. July 13, 1862 at the age of 18, he enlisted in Company D, 85th I. V. I., and participate in the battles of Perryville, Stone River, Cickamauga, Mission Ridge, Buzzard Roost, Kenesaw Mountain and lastly at Peach Tree Creek, Alabama, where he lost his right arm; at this battle, he was taken prisoner, and, while suffering extreme pain from the amputation of his arms, was confined several months in Andersonville Prison, where he suffered untold misery at the hands of those in charge; November 20, 1864, he received his parole at Savanah, and in February 1865, obtained his discharge. Upon his return home, he attended school two years in Havana and one year at the Soldiers College at Whiteside County. Upon his return home he engaged in stock-trading. December 29, 1869, he married Charlotte Coggshall, who was born October 9, 1849; daughter of William H. Goggshall; they have had three boys--Marshall O., born October 20 1870; Leonard, August 12, 1873; and an infant November 19, 1878. In 1869, Mr. Conover was elected County Treasurer, which office he filled two years; he then moved to the place he now lives on and has since been engaged in farming and stock-trading; he has 800 acres of land, and though deprived of the use of his right arm, yet he accomplishes more manual labor than most men with two. Joseph Benjamin Conover was born on 28. Sep. 1844 at Cass County, Illinois. He was the son of Maj. William Cownover and Rebecca Hopkins. Joseph Benjamin Conover married Charlotte Cogshell, daughter of William Henry Coggeshall and Mary Ann Biddrecome, on 26. Dec. 1869 at Mason County, Illinois. Joseph Benjamin Conover died on 7.
