In his will date Feb 10, 1789 he mentioned his wife Eleanor; his sons Jacob, Daniel G., John, and Garret; his daughters Gashy, wife of Hendrick Covenhoven and Anne, Wife of Isaac Van Doren; and his grandchildren Garret and Nell Covenhoven, children of his son Roelof, and Nelly and Polly Lloyd, children of his daughter Sarah. His widow and their eldest son Jacob were the executors, and it was witnessed by John Wiley, Jacob Covenhoven, and John Smock, Jr. Gerret Covenhoven died on 9. Dec. 1797 at age 81. He died on 9. Dec. 1797 at age 81. He was buried c 10. Dec. 1797 at Family graveyard near Taylor's Mills, Atlantic Twp., Monmouth County, New Jersey. His estate was proved on 16. Jan. 1798.
