George Junior Crownover was born on 11. Aug. 1923 at Miller Twp., Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of
Beulah Crownover. George Junior Crownover died on 13. Dec. 2000 at Oxon Hill, Prince George's County, Maryland, at age 77.
George Junior CROWNOVER, 77, formerly of Huntingdon, R.D. 2, and most recently of 513 Wilson Bridge Drive, Oxon Hill, Md., died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2000, at the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home, Mechanicsville, Md. He had been ill for the past several years.
Born Aug. 11, 1923, in Miller Township, Huntingdon County, he was the son of the late Beulah Crownover and was reared in the home of Carl and Florence Crownover. He is survived by his companion of 34 years, Delores Miller of Oxon Hill, Md.
He is also survived by a stepson. Richard Crownover of La Plata, Md., and by Jane Booher Reynolds of Oxon Hill, Md who was reared in his home. Mr. Crownover was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Fort Washington, Md., and served in the United States Army during World War II with a tank battalion.
He attended Miller Grade School in Miller Township, Bark Ridge School in Henderson Township and Alfarata Grade School in Huntingdon.
Mr. Crownover had worked on the Herbert Blair farm at Cornpropst Mills, then as a telephone lineman with William Bottenfield telephone contractors and Henkel and McCoy telephone contractors. After moving to Maryland, he was employed in construction.
A memorial service was held at the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home in Mechanicsville, Md. His step-son, gave the eulogy. Interment was made in Sheltonham, Md.
