Jess “Junior” Crownover, 74, of Gassville passed away Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005, at his residence.

He was born July 23, 1931, in Whiteville to Jess C. and Nellie (McGee) Crownover. He married Mary Nell Johnson Nov. 24, 1951, in Mountain Home. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was awarded the Bronze Star. He was an auto body and fender repairman and owned and operated the former Crownover’s Body Shop. He was a member of the Baptist faith. He loved to fish, hunt and rebuild cars. He enjoyed loafing and visiting with close friends and his family.

Mr. Crownover is survived by his wife, Mary Nell Crownover of the home; son James Lee Crownover and wife, Jenny, of Gassville; daughters Olivia Annette Thrasher of Gassville and Marsha Jean Salman and husband, Patrick, of Little Rock; grandchildren Chris Thrasher and wife, Christine, Courtney Thrasher Heath and husband Eric, Kelsey, Kalin and Landon Salman and Devin and Allison Crownover; brothers Dale Crownover and wife, Sue, of Whiteville, Freddie Crownover and wife, Betty, of Gassville and Darrell Crownover and wife, Sue, of Lakeview; and sisters Geraldine Powell and husband, Harlin, of Mountain Home and Anna Joyce Pannell and husband, Rudy, of Whiteville. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Imogene Crownover.

Visitation will be noon-9 p.m. Thursday at Roller Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m.

A funeral will be 3 p.m. Friday at Roller Funeral Home Chapel.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks.
