E.Adams & Bro. Bakers and Purveyors
Among the several butchers that have at different times engaged in the meat business in Pleasantville, none have ever acquired a wider reputation for handling choice meats at popular prices than the firm of E. Adams & Bro. For 24 years their Pioneer Market has been supplying the people of Pleasantville with the freshest and tenderest of fresh and salt ; meats, poultry and game, groceries, provisions, fruits, vegetables, fresh country eggs and bakery goods. The market has been under control of the present management for the last 12 years. The firm is now composed of Elwood and William Adams, both natives of Pleasantville and both men of much energy, push and determlnation; and being persistently watchful over the details of their business have built up a patronage by far the largest in the township. Appreciation of the goods handled at the Pioneer Market is indicated by the fact that its trade is not confined to the limits of the borough, but extends Into the surrounding country for miles. Elwood bas been president of the Board of Education for 12 years. Both members of the firm are regarded as reputable and successful business men, in whose representations may be placed every confidence.
Elwood Adams died in 1933.
