John Randolph Cubberley, of Robbinsville, who has for a period of many years served his township in offices of trust andresponsibility, was born August 26, 1829, on the homestead which has been handed down from father to son since it first came intopossession of the family as a royal grant. John Randolph is ason of David W. Cubberly, a grandson of William Cubberley, agreat-grandson of Thomas Cubberley, and a great-great-grandsonof James Cubberley, the founder of the American branch of the family.
John, in his manner of life and in the reputation which he hasbuilt up for himself, has followed in the footsteps of hisancestors. As a citizen he has shown himself, like all of hisname, public-spirited and willing to serve the community in anymanner which, in his judgement, makes for its best interests.He has held many township offices, among them those of collectorand justice of the peace, and for over nineteen years served inthe former capacity. His vote and influence are always given insupport of the men and measures endorsed by the Republican Party. His church membership is with the Baptist denomination.
Mr. Cubberley married, January 2, 1851, Mary Perrine, and theyare the parents of a daughter, Rebecca P., born July 12, 1867,wife of Tenbroeck B. Stout.
