Jul. 1941 Type: Obit The following obituary for Mabel (Dllingham) Hanrahan was published in 1941 in The Vidette-Messenger, Valparaiso, Porter Co., Indiana: RESIDENT OF COUNTY DIES Mrs. Mabel Hannrahan Succumbs to Heart Attack; Rites Wednesday Mrs. Mabel Hanrahan, wife of Arthur Hanrahan, residing on Campbell road, five miles north of Valparaiso in Liberty township, died suddenly Sunday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock of a heart attack. She had been in ill health for several years. The decedent was born in Liberty township, Porter county, on May 6, 1880, a daughter of Isaac Dillingham and Patience (Proseus) Dillingham. All of her life was spent in this county. On Sept. 13, 1899, she was united in marriage to Arthur Hanrahan, who survives together with two daughters, Mrs. Lon Rosenberger and Mrs. Edward Keene Jr. of Valparaiso, and two sons, Wallace and William Hanrahan of Liberty township; three sisters, Mrs. Oakley Lutes and Mrs. William Morthland of Valparaiso and Mrs. Edwin Anderson of Long lake, and two brothers, Myron and Warren Dillingham of Liberty township. Two sisters and a brother preceded her in death, DeLoss Dillingham in 1911; Mrs. Fred Kunz in 1936, and Mrs. Charles Phares in 1940. She was a member of the Liberty township women's farm bureau organization and the Christian church. Memorial services will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. DST at the family home in Liberty township, conducted by Rev. C. M. Smail. Burial will be in Kimball cemetery with Bartholomew and Son in charge. Friends may call at the family home from 7 o'clock this evening and up until time of the services.

Mrs. Jennie Schneider and Mrs. H. W. Hock sang several selections at Mabel's funeral service. Mabel E. (Dillingham) Hanrahan is buried adjacent to her husband, Arthur Hanrahan, in section C14 of Kimball Cemetery, Liberty Township, Porter Co., Indiana. Mabel's tombstone inscription reads: HANRAHAN, Mabel E. mother 1880 - 1941. On 1. Rev. C. M. Smail of the Valparaiso Christian church conducted the rites and Mrs. Jennie Schneider and Mrs. H. W. Hock sang several selections. The floral tributes were many and beautiful. Pallbearers were nephews of the decedent and were: Zane Phares, Oakley Lutes, Leonard Dillingham, Paul Dillingham, Myron Anderson and Leroy Hanrahan. Burial was in Kimball cemetery.
