Uriah Dubois died in this city Thursday, April 6th, of apolplexy, aged 74 years, 1 month, and 6 days. He was born in Duchess county, New York, May 1st, 1806, and lived as a farmer in his native county for several years. in 1856, he brought his family to this county and engaged in farming untill 1877, when he moved to the city. Though his sons made his home pleasant and kept all his wants supplied, yet his natural habits of industry led him to seek some occupation suitable to his declining years, and for the past four years he has engaged in the runiture rooms of Gwynne Bros. During his residence in this county he made many friends who respected him highly. He was and exhaustive reader and possessed of an active and retentive memory which was undimmed by age, he would converse intelligently upon any subject. The funeral services were held last Saturday afternoon, from his late residence, Rev. E. N. Barrett, of the Presbyterian church officiating. Deceased leaves a wife and theree sons here, and a daughter in New York. one in Kansas and another in Waverly, Iowa, also a son at Yankton, Dakota, all of whom have the sympathy of their many friends. He was buried at Fairview Cemetery, Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa.
