Sep. 1980 at Lancaster Twp., Huntington County, Indiana, at age 80. Walter D. Glass, 80, Rt. 7, died Friday morning (Sept. 5, 1980) at his residence. He had been cutting down a tree at his property and the tree fell on him, pinning him to the ground. He was discovered Saturday afternoon by a neighbor.
Mr. Glass lived most of his life in Huntington County, and was a retired farmer and former schoolteacher.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Glass, Leesburg, Fla., and DeWayne Glass, North Manchester; three daughters, Mrs. Paul (Maxine) Olson, Bloomfield Hills, Mich., Mrs. A. E. (Margaret) Gall, Cary, Ill., and Mrs. Verie (Shirley) Lima, Allen, Texas; a brother, Floyd Glass, Rt. 4, Wabash; a sister, Mrs. Mabel Cross, Rt. 4, Wabash; and 13 grandchildren.

Mr. Glass was born March 23, 1900 in Grant County to Oliver and Flora Mary Reeder Glass. His wife, Eva, died Sept. 29, 1979.
Survivors in addition to those listed in the Sunday Herald Press include a second sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Fisher, Arcadia, Fla. Two brothers, Smith Glass and Marcus Glass are deceased.
Friends may call after 7:30 p. m. today at the Deal and Robbins Funeral Home. Burial will in the Monument City Memorial Cemetery.
