Abraham Golden was born on 19. Sep. 1814 at Hopewell, Hunterdon County, New Jersey. He was the son of
William Golden and
Catherine Stout. Abraham Golden married
Sarah Wikoff, daughter of
John Wyckoff and
Elizabeth Ege, c 1835 at Hunterdon County, New Jersey. Abraham Golden died in 1839 at Princeton, Bureau County, Illinois. He died c 1890 at New Jersey. Ege, "Pioneers of Old Hopewell" pg 76:
Abraham Golden and William, his brother, made a business trip to Western Illinois in the spring of 1839. They drove wagons the whole distance, which they sold to the settlers of the then border state. Abraham was taken sick and died at the home of Mrs. John Musgrove at Princeton, Bureau County, Illinois.
(Mrs. Musgrove was the former Sarah Golden, daughter of Amos and Elizabeth Golden. Amos was a son of Abraham Golden who was captured by the Hessians and died during the Revolutionary War. pg 37.)
After the death of Abraham, william returned to New Jersey on horseback, riding the horse which had belonged to his deceased brother, and leading his own.
