Vivian Ruth Hadley was born on 21. Jul. 1920 at Saint Louis, Missouri. She was the daughter of
Howard Cecil Hadley and
Glady Anna Chisenhall. Vivian Ruth Hadley married
Littleton P. Bradley. She attended Wyman Grade School and McKinley High School in St. Louis, graduating in Jan. 1937. She then attended St. Louis Business Collage, and worked as a secretary for a number of years. She had been offered a scholarship at Washington U., in St. Louis, but declined in order to attend business school. On 17 Feb 1940, Vivian married Littleton Porter Bradley, in Rochester, NY, where Littleton (Brad) had been working. They became parents of three children, Elizabeth Ann, Richard Littleton, and Ronald Howard Bradley. After the three children were well along in school, Vivian again worked as a secretary for several years. After she retired from full-time employment when the three children had graduated from collage, Vivian helped in her church's office at no pay, whenever she was needed.
She was a member of the St. Louis Gospel Center, the Bible Presbyterian Church of St. Louis, the Red Star Baptist Church of Cape Girardeau, MO., the Hanley Hills Baptist Church in St. Louis and the First Baptist Church of Ferguson, MO., serving in many places of leadership in the last four. She became an excellent Bible teacher and all-around worker in Sunday School and missionary activities, as well as participating in many other events and activities. She was a wonderful daughter, taking care of her ill parents for a number of years, wife, Mother and Grandmother, a tireless worker, always finding something around her home and church to do. She enjoyed entertaining friends and relatives in her gome. She was of great help to her husband as he prepared a book about the Chisenhall's, and
several other publications.
After Littleton retired, he and Vivian purchased a retirement home in Mesa, AZ., where their daughter, Elizabeth (Betty) lives, and where they spent five months each year. The remaining months were spent in the St. Louis area. While in Mesa, Vivian and Brad were active in the First Southern Baptist Church.
